The Box is an app for live debates on video and audio. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use The Box.

Who can use The Box

You must be at least 17 years old. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe.

Zero tolerance for abuse

Debate the idea, not the person. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not:

• harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
• post or show hate speech, or attack people for who they are;
• show nudity or sexual content;
• show or encourage violence, self-harm or illegal activity;
• spam, scam or impersonate anyone;
• record or share other people's video or audio without their permission.

Anyone can report or block another user from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content and accounts that break these rules. Moderators can also remove people from their rooms.

Your content

You're responsible for what you say and show in a room. Rooms are live: video, audio and chat go to the people in the room as they happen, and The Box doesn't record them. Other people in a room can see and hear you whenever you're in a seat.

Box Pass

Box Pass is an optional subscription, sold monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown in the app. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge, and you keep Box Pass until then. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription: cancel it in the store too.

Box Pass includes up to 50 AI fact checks a month. AI fact checks are suggestions made by an AI system and can be wrong; they aren't professional or legal advice, and the moderator's ruling is the one that counts. We may change what Box Pass includes; if we take something significant away, we'll tell you first.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app (tap your initials in the Lobby, then Delete account). We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

No warranty

The Box is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of The Box.

Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app. Using The Box after a change means you accept the new terms.
